28 JAN 2026: Chicago Police Officer Jesus Perez and Officer Joseph Schillaci received a handmade quilt from Quilts for Cops. The quilts were presented in front of Recruit Class 25-8 by Chaplain Hysni Selenica. Officer Prezes' better half, Recruit Gloria Lugo participated in the quilt presentation as she presented the quilt to her better half. On 29 Dec 2025: Officer Schillaci and Officer Perez were monitoring the radio zone of a convoy of stolen vehicles heading towards the 019th District. As they were driving through the intersection of 1200 W. Waveland, one of the stolen vehicles driving at a high rate of speed, struck their marked police vehicle.

28 JAN 2026: Chicago Police Officer Dmitriy Okunskiy received a handmade quilt from Quilts for Cops, presented by Chaplain Rafael Yanez and Chaplain Hysni Selenica. On 19 Oct 2025: Officer Okunskiy and his partner were on patrol as they were driving through the intersection at 11100 S Cottage Grove Ave. A vehicle driving at a high rate of speed struck the marked police car, causing it to spin through the street. Both officers were knocked out unconscious do to the impact.

15 JAN 2026: Chicago Police Officer Mark Rebecchi received a handmade quilt from Quilts for Cops, as Chaplain Hysni Selenica presented the quilt. On 14 Nov 2025: Officer Rebecchi quickly responded to a group of angry people charging at a victim. Officer Rebecchi was able to deflect the group from injuring the victim or getting nearby. While keeping the victim safe, Officer Rebecchi suffered a fractured hand.

13 JAN 2026: Chicago Police Officer Mohammed Massoud received a handmade quilt from Quilts for Cops, presented by Chaplain Robert Montelongo, Chaplain Rafael and Chaplain Hysni Selenica. The presentation took place at Yaba's Food & Middle Eastern Grill in the Logan Squar neighborhood. Thank you! Yaba and Officer Massoud for your generous hospitality. On 23 Nov 2025: Officer Massoud and his partner Officer Jay Cuaresma were responding to a 10-1 emergency call. As they were going through the intersection at Western and Grandville, a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed disregard the red-light signal and struck the mark police vehicle. The impact caused their vehicle to spin into the medium. Both officers suffered head and multipole bodily injuries.

On 23 Nov 2025: Officer Cuaresma and his partner Officer Mohammed Massoud were responding to a 10-1 emergency call. As they were going through the intersection at Western and Grandville, a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed disregard the red-light signal and struck the mark police vehicle. The impact caused their vehicle to spin into the medium. Both officers suffered head and multiple bodily injuries.

12 JAN 2026: Chicago Police Officer Aaron Boyd received a handmade quilt from Quilts for Cops, presented by Chaplain Rafael Yanez and Chaplain Hysni Selenica. On 14 Nov 2025: Officer Boyd marked police vehicle collided with a vehicle at the intersection of 47th and Vincennes. Both vehicles spun and struck a fixed object. Officer Boyd received mutable injuries to his body.

06 JAN 2026: Chaplain Robert Montelongo led the ceremonial prayer at the star ceremony for recruit Class 25-5. After the ceremony, members of the Chaplains Unit offered blessings to the newly sworn police officers. Congratulation Class 25-5!!!

01 JAN 2026: On Christmas night and New Year’s Eve, some of my elves and I visited a dozen districts to distribute care packages made by about six generous high school students. The bags, filled with candy, gum, beef jerky, etc., put smiles on a lot of faces…as evidenced here!
